Data and Analytics Research team does deep research into specific sectors of the tech industry and state of the art technologies, such as , or , in order to better understand best practices and trends in the space. We share our findings with our external communities and use these newfound insights to help establish Datadog as a thought leader, internally better our products and enable data-driven decisions. We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team to help shape some of the new areas of Research we are exploring such as AI, AI observability and AI infrastructure.At Datadog, we place value in our office culture – the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. - Collaborate with Data Engineers and Product Engineers to build high volume and high quality datasets that will shape our reports
- Leverage technology such as DBT to make data easily available for analysis and other purposes.
- Test hypothesis, discover patterns and trends in the industry and distill that data to concise insights
- Communicate findings to Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Community to help them tell a data-driven story to a public audience, but also influence internal roadmaps and enable data-driven strategic decisions
- Actively contribute to our company-wide community of Data Analysts: fostering collaboration and sharing best practices, to push data-driven decision-making to the next level!
Who You Are:
- You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, performing data analysis and creating visualization using BI tools such as Metabase, Looker or Tableau
- You are fluent in writing analytical SQL and understand the difference between SQL that works and performant SQL
- You have experience working with high scale datasets and with data modeling and transformation, using tools such as dbt
- You are driven to know “why” and have a natural curiosity and investigating mindset
- You are a clear and concise communicator that works well with others, and able to explain complex datasets or queries to non-technical people in understandable ways
- You are excited to work in a fast, high-growth startup environment and thrive on both autonomy and collaboration
