This individual would continually stay on top of apparel industry trends and is instrumental to the costume supply chain.This position reports to the Area Manager of Costume Buying.This is a temporary role with no guarantee of permanent placement.What You Will DoWork closely with vendors to source, develop, and procure product that meets all organization requirements, and initiativesMonitor warehouse inventory and complete withdrawal transactions as neededPlace orders for garments and accessories in SAP and Coupa, and monitor delivery dates for commodities/components being orderedDevelop and maintain relationships with vendorsSeek and onboard new vendorsPartner with Disney Cruise Line (DCL) and Costuming Operations to maintain costume quality and designImplement The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) procurement policies and guidelinesMeets customer service requirements for service, quality, and value at the lowest total costDevelop new vendor contracts to sustain inventory levelsMaintain files of signed vendor contracts, proposal requests, and bid exception formsCommunicate all production status as well as product updates to Team, Issue, and Line of BusinessMentor and provide feedback to others to further develop the team

Provide feedback, mentor, and discipline hourly union employeesResearch, analyze, and onboard international and domestic sources of supplyLead projects with multiple styles and vendors with a highly complex sourcing strategyDevelop and lead sourcing initiativesDevelop bid strategies for large packages of productsBasic Qualifications & Skills5+ years experience in apparel or hardline purchasing and/or sourcingExperience with garment construction and terminologyExperience in international shipping processes, global sourcing, and complianceExperience in planning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, influencing, and negotiatingExperience communicating (written & verbal) with all levels of partners (internal and external)Experience leading a portfolio of ordersExperience vetting, onboarding, and leading international sources of supplyExperience evaluating factories to ensure complianceExperience performing complex cost analysis and comparisons on a range of commoditiesExperience leading complex workflow and project budgetsExperience gaining consensus from various levels of collaborators up to and including ExecutivesExperience with continuous improvement processAbility to work around all types of fabrics, fibers, and synthetic fursAbility to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidaysAbility to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20% of the timePreferred QualificationsExperience using SharePoint and/or SmartsheetExperience with SAP/Coupa purchasing module, Yunique PLM, and/or AccessExperience in textiles or the apparel industryExperience with garment specification or technical specification writingEducationHigh School diploma or equivalent is requiredAdvanced degree in Merchandising, Costuming, Apparel, or related field is preferredAdditional InformationBenefits and Perks: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
