We are seeking a Senior Compliance & Corporate Governance Advisor to support the Drilling Services division in Salt Lake City, UT. This role is primarily responsible for core compliance workflows (hotline intake, investigations support, policy management, training oversight, monitoring, and third-party due diligence) and supports subsidiary governance obligations across multiple jurisdictions. This position reports directly to our General Counsel – Drilling Services and works closely with regional management, HR, Finance, and operations. The role is well suited for a self-directed professional who can spot issues, manage details independently, and contribute across a lean legal team. ESG/ESH responsibilities are separately managed but require coordinated interaction.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Ethics

  • Support Boart Longyear’s global compliance program and help ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies through consistent day-to-day execution and follow-through.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Compliance Hotline, including intake, triage, routing, documentation and tracking through resolution.
  • Identify, analyze, and escalate trends or potential issues in compliance reports and prepare insights for leadership.
  • Oversee employee compliance training and onboarding completion tracking.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of third party risk management, including due diligence, qualification reviews, monitoring, and corrective action tracking.
  • Assist in drafting, revising and managing compliance-related policies, procedures, certifications, and communications.
  • Conduct or assist in internal investigations and maintain proper documentation and reporting.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve compliance workflows, documentation, and reporting tools to strengthen processes and user experience.

Corporate Governance

  • Support the General Counsel – Drilling Services with governance activities, including board resolutions, meeting materials, regulatory filings, and related corporate records.
  • Maintain global corporate entity records, including annual reports, business registrations, statutory filings, and jurisdiction-specific deadlines.
  • Support legal entity management, restructuring initiatives, and other legal department priorities, as assigned.

education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree preferred in business, law, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (CCEP, CCEPI, CRCM, or similar) a plus.

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related legal or operational roles in industrial services, energy, mining, manufacturing, or similar complex environments
  • Strong foundation in compliance programs, including ABC frameworks, hotline management, investigations, and third party risk management programs
  • Experience in and/or strong interest in working in a corporate legal department, including governance support such as entity management, filings, board materials, or related work; public company experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal (English) communication skills
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with sound judgment and an ability to spot issues and help resolve them
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects, filings, and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, learn new subject matter quickly, and contribute flexibly across a lean legal team
