SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST – position# K0238551  

This unclassified, permanent, full-time position is located at the Pratt Operations Office in Pratt, KS and is directly supervised by Chris Berens, Director of Ecological Services Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for high level administrative support through paying vouchers, making travel arrangements, ordering supplies and equipment, screening incoming calls and emails for the division.
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets to document accounting of expenditures for division’s main budget and grant projects.
  • Provides administrative functions for WildTrust program that includes accepting and assigning funds to accounts, sending tax receipts to donors and collaboration with the WildTrust coordinators and committee.
  • Perform advanced duties in the Statewide Management, Accounting, and Reporting Tool (SMART) system and other computerized systems.
  • Provides administrative support for Chickadee Checkoff, Aquatic Species Recovery, and other Ecological Services division programs.
  • Opportunities will be made available for assisting biologists with wildlife surveys.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.
  • Proficiency in word processing, PowerPoint, and Adobe is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in use and development of spreadsheets and databases is preferred.
  • Strong writing skills, ability to lead by example, and a proven ability to supervise and manage people.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to relieve superiors of administrative detail by working independently is required of this position.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required.
