SDE III – Web (CAT)

Role Purpose:

At Jumio, the Software Development Engineer III – Web will lead the development of highly responsive, scalable, and user-friendly web applications. This role involves creating exceptional front-end experiences using modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Svelte, optimizing performance, and maintaining seamless API integrations. You will play a pivotal role in shaping Jumio’s cutting-edge Identity Verification products, driving excellence in user experience, and setting a high standard for front-end engineering practices.

T-Shaped Engineering Expectation:

As part of Jumio’s engineering culture, you will adopt a T-shaped engineering approach by contributing across the development lifecycle. This includes actively participating in UI/UX design discussions, optimizing web performance, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration with backend and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration. You will take ownership of delivering high-quality, maintainable code that not only meets immediate project goals but also supports long-term scalability and performance.

Example Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Svelte, and Angular.
• Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX wireframes into high-quality, maintainable code.
• Optimize web applications for performance, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries to ensure consistency and future scalability.
• Implement state management solutions to manage application workflows efficiently.
• Integrate APIs and ensure smooth communication between the front-end and back-end systems.
• Uphold best practices in software development, advocating for excellence in quality, documentation, and implementation

Experience and Qualifications 

• 6+ years of professional experience in software development
• Profound knowledge of web technologies and their impact on project outcomes
• Experienced in web/front-end technologies such as JavaScript, REST, and related relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g. Lit, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, React, … )
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and structured thinking abilities
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal

 

Great to have Experience and Qualifications 

• Experience working in a globally distributed team
• Full-stack development skills, including Java Spring Boot and AWS
• Knowledge of integrating ML models in Web
• Prior experience with a graph visualization library, such as yFiles
• Experience with bundlers (Vite, Rollup, Webpack, …)
• Experience in developing and shipping libraries/SDKs
• OSS contributions
