We’re looking for a SAP Security Engineer to strengthen our SAP Engineering team, recruiting technical experts to provide strong technical direction, leading security solutions in our SAP area. As well as providing direction to our delivery teams, you will proactively represent our applications in collaboration with colleagues from Architecture, Infrastructure, Delivery Partners, and our business to ensure solutions are deliverable and strategic from the outset.At Nationwide we openly put our 15 million members at the centre of every decision we make as a business. Your day-to-day work will involve all the things that you would expect from a Security consultant working in a highly collaborative complex multi-tiered SAP landscape including:
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive security strategies for SAP environments
- Monitoring and troubleshooting SAP security and authorization issues and integrating SAP systems with other enterprise applications
- Collaborate with SAP Basis and application teams to ensure secure system configurations
- Continuously improve and optimize SAP security posture through automation and process enhancements
- Conduct thorough Segregation of Duties (SoD) reviews, identify conflicts, and develop remediation strategies to ensure compliance and security
- Proficiently conceptualise, develop, and implement SAP Security models for both on-premise and cloud-based environments, ensuring a holistic approach to security
- Support regular security audits, assess compliance with industry standards, and recommend improvements to SAP security policies and procedures

We’ll expect you to get stuck in and have a go, knowing that sometimes to fail fast is to learn fast.About youFirst and foremost you’ll have proven SAP Security and Basis experience supporting one or more of the following SAP’s solutions/systems:
- SAP Governance Risk and Compliance (SAP GRC)
- SAP Business Warehouse
- SAP Solution Manager
- SAP Process Integration
- SAP S/4 HANA for Financial Products Subledger
- SAP S/4 HANA Banking for Payments Centralisation
You will have proven experience in the majority of the following areas:
- Implementing, configuring, and customising SAP GRC solutions (Access Control, Risk Management, Audit Management) and their functionalities
- SAP Security architecture, security authorization design, and integration across both on-premise and cloud SAP environments
- SAP HANA Security configuration and best practices
- SAP security solutions, including user authorizations, roles & profiles, security audits, and access controls
- Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions (like Cyberark)
- Identity Management solutions (like SailPoint IIQ) and SAP Central User Administration (CUA) for efficient user provisioning and access management
- Transport Management (ChaRM)
- Understanding complex problems, providing root cause analysis and identifying options for resolution
- Experience with SAP Security Design, Implementation, Administration and experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining GRC tools
- SAP Basis administration skills is highly desirable
- SAP Certifications in SAP GRC, Security or relevant compliance frameworks is also desirable
