Nationwide is on a multi-year journey to upgrade and improve how we store and manage our customer data. The Customer Data Modernisation Programme is a critical part of our journey to “focused fit and fast” ensuring that our customer records are hosted on a robust and resilient platform with flexibility to adapt to our growth strategy, exiting from the existing Unisys mainframe platform to SAP FS-Business Partner.With over 80 application consumers of customer data across the Society we require an experienced Test Manager, to lead on the creation of a Test Strategy for this complex change with a particular emphasis on Data, Migration and Decommission. The programme spans all components of the solution including the following:
- Infrastructure build
- SAP FS Business Partner configuration and deployment
- Data minimisation and migration
- API and batch feed upgrade and migration
- Migration of all consumers across both applications and EUCs
The successful applicant would provide SAP governance and application assurance across multiple workstreams ensuring best practices are being followed. This will involve working with our partners and other areas of the business as appropriate. - Provide leadership and mentoring to technical teams, guiding them on general SAP S/4HANA engineering principles, design patterns, and implementation techniques
- Provide guidance and direction to a team of engineers to create fit for purpose artefacts that meet requirements of the organisation and fit the technology strategy
- Provide technical expertise at parts and/or all stages of the delivery lifecycle, including providing technical leadership and consultancy to stakeholders
- Participate in strategic planning, architectural decisions and collaboration opportunities related to SAP BP systems
- Up skill and nurture a team of engineers to build a strong high performing team
- Organise the work of the team relying on technical knowledge to create efficiencies and give appropriate direction
- Support the creation of a target operating model for SAP Business Partner
About you
- Extensive experience in large scale SAP transformations, including expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP BP, SAP ECC, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Fiori, ABAP, and associated technologies.
- You will have a career background that has evolved through a technical discipline (preferably through implementation and design) towards a leadership role. You will demonstrably have the confidence to make decisions and the humility to change course when needed.
- Deep applied and proven experience in leading complex SAP transformation programmes within a highly regulated environment, preferably in the financial services or banking sector.
- Demonstrated experience in adopting and implementing emerging SAP technologies with a mix of both on-prem and cloud solutions.
- You’ll be a constant learner, open to new ideas and new ways of doing things.
- Experience of working on SAP applications in Banking and financial services including SAP-Fioneer, payments, core-banking and accounting is highly desirable.
- Experience working with, and developing solutions that span both on-premise and cloud hosted technologies.
- You’ll have broad technical knowledge across SAP BASIS, Security, cloud technologies, integration technologies such as:
- Hands-on experience of SAP Solution Manager, Change and Release Management (ChaRM) and other SAP tools
- Knowledge of SAP Clean Core principles
- Data integration patterns and tools including both real-time and batch interfaces with external systems
