Company DescriptionAchieve and try to exceed area sales and customer ‘point of sale’ (POS), targets through the promotion, service and sale of company products and programs in an established territory. This will be accomplished through the development of excellent customer relationships, coupled with timely and exemplary field execution.Job DescriptionProvide Service

  • Provide exceptional service including: sales and merchandising tactics that improve productivity, product knowledge and selling sessions, ensure product display model functionality, merchandising, ordering and inventory management (including ordering, inventory reconciliation, in stock, selling through overages, process returns on a timely basis) marketing and promotional programs for each customer base.

Sales Planning, Achievement and Reporting

  • Outline an Area Business Plan that supports company goals and targets
  • Grow the business by increased listings and gain shelf/off shelf space for new and existing products at new and existing home centre locations
  • Develop and build on relationships with key decision makers and sales staff
  • Liaise with internal departments (i.e. customer orders, credits, technical assistance, marketing information and warehouse materials)
  • Communicate accomplishments, threats, opportunities and related issues in a timely fashion to management

Other

  • Participate in special projects including but not limited to: new store set ups, overnight resets, tradeshows and weekend events as required
  • Assist in the development and set-up of product line and customer specific plan-o-grams
  • Assist in the development and model prototype creation of merchandising. (i.e. bath hardware organizers) and POP for in-store use (i.e. end-caps, wing stacks, off shelf, cross-merchandising)
  • Standard and ad-hoc reporting (as required)
  • Heavy lifting (i.e. faucet master packs, bath shelf organizers) and climbing tall ladders to down stock
  • Adhere to all safety policies & procedures
  • Additional store accounts may be required/assigned
  • Manage an expense plan budget and maintain company property in new and 100% operating condition

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in business, sales or marketing is preferred or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the province in which you are working
  • 2-5 years of in-store merchandising service or outside sales experience
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Self starting individual with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Team player with a proactive, positive attitude and honed interpersonal skills
  • A proven track record of superior customer service and sales accomplishment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating high levels of honesty and integrity
  • Ability to develop and follow a sales plan for area
  • Retail store experience or course work in merchandising/retailing is an asset
  • Experience building in-store displays and prototypes using hand/power tools
  • Overnight travel (including air) and willingness to work non-standard hours as required
  • Willingness to relocate (realignment of account/store responsibilities)

Additional Information:Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $50,000 USD – $77,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
