We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Asia Regional Office in Seoul to support adaptation work and to carry out day-to-day project management support for multiple countries in Asia.

The assignment will include, but not limited to, the following tasks:

Work closely with the Regional Lead for Asia and the project team in the day-to-day implementation of climate change adaptation activities of the Asia Regional Office.

Support the development of a regional adaptation program for the Asia Regional Office, working closely with the project managers and colleagues in the proposal development process.

Engage in data research, content writing and drafting inputs to technical reports and communication materials.

Assist in coordinating requirements for meetings, workshops and capacity building events related to logistics, participants confirmation, presentation materials, among others.

Assist in reviewing, editing, and proofreading GGGI knowledge products, technical reports, training and communication materials in line with GGGI guidelines.

Organize and maintain a repository of adaptation materials for easy access by the team.

Support with the administrative functions of the Asia Regional Office.

Perform other tasks as required by the Regional Lead.

 

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must, at the time of application, meet the following requirements:

Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.

Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.

Must possess legal right to work in Korea. For international applicants, a valid visa permitting work or internship in the Republic of Korea is required.

Applicants must be available to commit to the full internship duration as agreed with the supervising staff.

Possess an excellent command of English.

QUALIFICATION

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in environmental science, international development, public policy, urban planning, environmental resource economics, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Strong ability to draft technical reports and communication materials including infographics. Experience with design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, or Illustrator) is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in national adaptation planning within an International Organization is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • A strong interest in environmental issues, sustainable development, and green growth initiatives.
