For informal enquiries, please contact Wolfrum Gruhn (Assistant Professor) at Wolfram.Gruhn@warwick.ac.uk.The laboratory of Dr. Wolfram Gruhn at the University of Warwick is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position focused on uncovering the molecular mechanisms driving human germline development.In this project, the successful candidate will utilize the latest CRISPR technologies and human embryonic stem cell models to study the development of primordial germ cells in vitro. The research aims to identify gene regulatory networks mediating germline development, with a particular emphasis on deciphering the mechanisms that regulate epigenetic remodeling in the human germline.This position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art stem cell research facility located at the Clinical Science Research Laboratories (CSRL) on the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) campus. Additionally, the project will be supported by facilities at the Gibbet Hill campus of the University of Warwick including the Bioinformatics Research Technology Platform (RTP) and advanced microscopy facilities providing state-of-the-art experimental support and training opportunities.About YouKey Requirements:

  • Independently design and conduct experiments investigating the roles of transcription factors and epigenetic modifications in stem cell-derived cell types.
  • Perform bioinformatic analysis of Next Generation Sequencing datasets.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with relevant laboratories and research facilities to advance project objectives.
  • Actively contribute to the academic environment at the University of Warwick through participation in seminars, conferences, and other scholarly activities.
  • Co-supervise students working in the laboratory.
  • Contribute to laboratory management to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
