The ideal candidate would have skills in synthesis of cyclic monomers, high-vacuum distillation and other purification techniques as well as cationic polymerisation techniques. The project will involve synthesis of 2-oxazoline monomers and a good knowledge on cationic ring opening polymerisation or 2-oxazolines and 2-oxazines would be desired. The use of analytical techniques such as size exclusion chromatography, NMR and thermal analysis techniques will be needed.This is a great opportunity for an individual wishing to extend and further develop their skills in an academic environment, whilst learning about a growing strategically important department at the University of Warwick.We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.About YouThe candidate should have a previous experience in cationic ring opening polymerisation technique and preferably using 2-oxazoline and 2-oxazine monomers.
