I feel welcome and at home.”View more comments from our clients and their family members.Pay RangeCommensurate with ExperienceAs a member of VHA’s multidisciplinary research team, the Research Associate will further VHA’s vision to lead with science in the homecare sector. Working within an embedded research environment, the Research Associate will support various qualitative and mixed methods projects that contribute to safer work and better care. This is an exciting opportunity to conduct homecare research and to work alongside homecare experts, including clients and providers, and meaningfully contribute to real change and evidence-informed decision-making in the growing homecare sector.Key Areas of Accountability:

  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data including surveys, focus groups & interviews to answer questions and support discovery relevant to home care workforce and service delivery experiences
  • Contribute to the identification and design of further related research
  • Initiate systematic literature reviews and contribute to grant and REB application submissions
  • Support manuscript submission preparation to report research findings to the broader community
  • Identify and act upon opportunities for knowledge translation
  • Facilitate research engagement with clients, carers, and point-of-care professionals in advisor and collaborator capacities across research projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a Health Sciences related field of study with skills in qualitative methodology and analysis
  • The successful candidate will possess critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail and an enthusiasm for new discovery and improving quality of care, working conditions, and services within the homecare sector
  • Research experience with health data collection and analysis involving human subjects
  • Experience conducting literature searches using health related databases (e.g. PubMed, Medline)
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) & knowledge of referencing software (EndNote); skills in RStudio and NVivo is an asset
  • Clearly communicate research findings, including through the generation of compelling visualizations, clear presentations for colleagues and academic audiences, reports, and publications.
  • Exceptional organization and time management including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient manner
  • Tact, discretion and ability to manage confidential and sensitive data and information to meet privacy requirements
  • Ability to work both independently and within an interprofessional team environment with staff at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (in-person and virtually)
