Full time Regional Medical Director – Now Hiring + Amazing Compensation – Raleigh / Durham area of North Carolina.A renowned partner hospital is seeking an experienced and passionate Regional Medical Director to oversee a portfolio of 20-35 animal hospitals in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina . This field-based role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with talented veterinary teams to ensure exceptional patient care, while also driving operational success and enhancing the overall performance of the region’s hospitals. The Regional Medical Director will travel within the area, working closely with hospital staff to elevate medical practices and optimize hospital operations.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor veterinary teams, providing support on complex medical cases while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure high-quality patient care by monitoring medical protocols, doctor interactions, and treatment standards across all hospitals.
  • Assist in resolving staff and client conflicts, encouraging open communication and effective problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with practice managers and regional directors to drive business operations, improving performance across hospitals in the region.
  • Conduct quarterly inspections to maintain high standards of operational and medical excellence.
  • Review and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, visits, and medical outcomes, and implement strategies to improve overall performance.
  • Mentor new graduate veterinarians, supporting their transition into practice and helping them build their careers.
  • Ensure compliance with all medical, operational, and regulatory standards, including maintaining proper licensing records and DEA logs.
  • Step in to fill urgent staffing needs and assist with complex case management as needed.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a highly experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for advancing animal care. The ability to communicate effectively, analyze data, and manage a multi-location region is essential. Qualifications include:

  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of clinical veterinary experience, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Active veterinary license and DEA in good standing for North Carolina (or the ability to obtain).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret performance data and make strategic improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with veterinary teams and clients.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the Raleigh/Durham area to support hospitals across the region.

Location & Travel: This field-based role is located in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina and requires frequent travel to multiple animal hospitals in the region. Candidates should be based in or near Raleigh/Durham for efficient travel logistics.Benefits:
