The Refugee Hub works at the intersection of research, policy, and programming to champion and design protection solutions for refugees. Our team specializes in cross-sectoral work, providing high-quality and tailored support to governments, civil society, and private sector leaders in support of an improved refugee protection system. We foster innovative new pathways, programs, and partnerships that leverage the welcoming capacity within our communities.
Our unique Knowledge Team, based at the University of Ottawa, ensures that the organization’s policy and programmatic work is fully informed by world-class research and knowledge generation. This includes substantive research and knowledge creation and translation with a focus on refugee sponsorship, resettlement, and complementary pathways. The Knowledge Team is a mix of permanent staff and part-time uOttawa students in research and administrative roles.

We are seeking a student to join us as a Refugee Hub Administrative Assistant for the 2025/2026 academic year. Under the supervision of the Principal Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the University of Ottawa Refugee Hub’s Knowledge Team and its research initiatives.

If this is a front-line position with responsibilities to interact with students, selected candidates must be rated at the Low Advanced proficiency level or higher for both oral comprehension and reading comprehension in their second official language. The rating is determined by a proficiency test designed by the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute.
Prior to May 1, 2022, the University required all students, faculty, staff, and visitors (including contractors) to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as defined in Policy 129 – Covid-19 Vaccination. This policy was suspended effective May 1, 2022 but may be reinstated at any point in the future depending on public health guidelines and the recommendations of experts.
