CancerCare Manitoba is the perfect place to thrive if you’re seeking a fulfilling career in an organization that is committed to its employees’ well-being and professional development.Competition # 086-25-7111060Posting End Date: March 31, 2025City: WinnipegWork Location: MacCharlesDepartment: Quality & Patient SafetyUnion: Non-UnionHiring Status: PermanentAnticipated Start Date: ASAPFTE: 1.0Anticipated Shift: DaysDaily Hours Worked: 7.5Annual Base Hours: 1950Salary: $28.898 /$ /$29.983 /$31.106 /$32.273 /$33.485 /$34.739 /$36.044 /$37.393 /$38.795Job Summary:Reporting to the Manager, Quality & Patient Safety, the Quality & Patient Safety Data Compliance Analyst provides analytical, and systems support for quality improvement initiatives within the unit; and in collaboration with the Director of Quality & Patient Safety, interprofessional team, and leads from CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) committees, and is responsible for coordinating the activities of clinical audits. Audit responsibilities include database development; working with leads from CCMB committees to analyze and interpret audit findings; and preparation of a written evaluation of results to support professional best practice using evidence-based decision-making, through patient safety and accreditation standards.This position will focus on quality and patient safety analysis, development of quality/process improvement and risk management initiatives, measuring, monitoring and reporting on the achievement of defined quality, patient safety and accreditation goals and applying a range of qualitative and quantitative performance measurement analyses and quality improvement methods.Qualifications:Education

  • Post secondary degree in a health, computer science, statistics , science or related from an accredited educational institution.
  • Certificate in Quality Management preferred.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience analyzing data, preparing spreadsheets, computer programming, developing and managing databases; preferably within a healthcare setting.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Skills and Abilities

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio), and knowledge of database software.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer technology to capture, manage, analyze, report, and present data.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills, problem solving abilities, oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy with data analysis software programs, knowledge of statistical procedures and applications.
  • Must have good organizational skills, interpersonal skills, able to work independently, and with multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals, staff and management from multiple sites within the region.

Preferred

  • Health service delivery with a focus on quality and patient safety operation preferred.
  • Development of quality/process improvement and risk management initiatives.
  • Customer service, and change management strategies and processes.
  • Measuring, monitoring and reporting on the achievement of defined quality, patient safety and accreditation goals and applying a range of qualitative and quantitative performance measurement analyses, quality improvement methods and tools such as the IHI Model for Improvement, or Lean Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Health Records background or knowledge of health administration databases preferred.

Asset

  • Background in quality management, Accreditation Canada, and/or patient safety would be an asset.
  • Training/expertise in Quality and Performance Improvement Methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, PDSA) is considered an asset.
  • Certificate in quality improvement would be an asset.

Required Licenses, Registrations, Designations

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body, as appropriate.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • May be required to travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.

Other

  • Must have satisfactory employment record.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Ability to speak French is considered an asset.
