Job Description:About the RoleWe currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Minworth. This role reports to the Quality Manager, while quality technicians and auditors report to the individual in this role. Supporting initiatives for quality control and improvement across all operations falls under the responsibility of this function. Along with handling any consumer complaints, conducting inquiries, and managing risks.Ideal candidates will have a background in logistics or the automotive industry, have experience managing a team, have experience in a customer-facing position, and have knowledge of lean, continuous improvement, and quality control.How you will contribute
- Provide input on processes for a quality perspective and assist in the implementation of new processes.
- Develop and design corrective actions for problems and establish a problem-solving technique to reduce process variation.
- Gather data from the customer and internal sources as input for problem solving and communicate/report to appropriate personnel.
- Support operational teams to ensure prompt and robust actions are initiated.
- Champion lean engineering goals in addition to implement and maintain a lean culture within the organisation.
- Administer all projects and documentation (quality system) relative to assigned processes/launches.
- Maintain and update the Quality System in line with ISO 9001 requirements & oversee any required actions.
- Mentor & support the organization on Quality related tools such as problem-solving tools, Risk Management & continuous improvement
What you will bring
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
- A Background in an automotive or logistics industry is preferred, but not essential.
- ISO 9001 or 16949 Auditor trained and qualified is essential.
- Experience in auditing is preferred.
- Risk management using tools such as FMEA.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ideally educated to degree level, in a relevant field.
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
- Lean Six Sigma experience would be beneficial.
