DEA’s Water and Environment Business Unit (WEBU) is looking for an exceptional candidate to be our Puget Sound Region WEBU Market Leader. This position is responsible for championing and leading market strategy and growth for WEBU in Washington.

This position can be located in Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Woodinville, Tacoma or Olympia.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Puget Sound Region WEBU Market Leader and as a WEBU Senior Leader – with primary focus on business development and sales to help build and grow the existing WEBU practice areas of Water/Wastewater Infrastructure, Surface Water Resources and Environmental Planning and Compliance in Washington.
  • Work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment with individual and group responsibilities for business development, sales, financial performance and internal and external client satisfaction, deliverables and schedules.
  • Grow the WEBU staff presence in Washington with eventual opportunity to manage, coach, and mentor staff in professional, technical, and business development efforts.
  • Develop and execute market strategy with Client Team Leaders and Senior Leaders in the Region
  • Determine the strategic allocation of business development resources to achieve Regional sales and revenue goals
  • Champion visibility and branding within the Region
  • Serve as Principal-In-Charge or Project Manager with responsibility for all aspects of project development and delivery, including scoping, budgeting, contract negotiations, and project execution.
  • Serve as a Client Leader (with specific/identified Clients) with business development, client management and client profitability goals. 
  • Engage in recruiting and retention efforts to ensure DEA hires the best possible talent and supports processes that encourage staff longevity
  • Serve as a project pursuit champion, when applicable and assist in preparing proposals and participating in interviews
  • Increase DEA and WEBU visibility in Washington through active involvement, presentations and leadership positions with key industry organizations and related conferences
  • Work with the other senior leaders on strategic planning activities
  • Work with the other senior leaders to identify capital investments, strategic alliances, key hires, acquisitions and growth opportunities

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Studies/Sciences or related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 10 years as a business development or group leader
  • Proven track record of Water and Environment project wins in Washington
  • Project management experience with documented success in project delivery for Water and Environment clients in Washington
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
