You will apply project management best practices to define scope, budget, schedule, and risks, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project requirements. This role demands experience in landfill or civil construction, the ability to manage multiple projects, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.The TeamThe Technical Services team at SECURE delivers expert solutions to improve operations, boost performance, and drive innovation. Specializing in safe, efficient infrastructure projects and managing well health, geology, and project execution, the team is committed to quality, sustainability, and operational excellence while fostering a culture of safety, knowledge sharing, and reliable results.Work EnvironmentThis position can be located in Calgary, Edmonton, Or Red Deer, Alberta. We are currently hiring for one permanent and one 12-month contract position, and all applicants will be considered for both roles.A Day in The Life
- Liaise with our Landfill Operation Teams through fill planning sessions and depletion forecasting to plan and prioritize future landfill projects.
- Define project scope, objectives and deliverables that support the business goals in collaboration with Operations, Third Party Engineering and Internal Stakeholders.
- Travel to Landfill sites for project design, kick off meetings and operation support as required.
- Assemble a budget for the completion of the scope within the agreed upon scheduled timeline and progress the plan through monitoring and forecasting against the budget.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing Landfill and or Civil construction projects.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Eng, CET, RET, EIT or equivalent is considered an asset, but not a requirement.
- Proven working relationship with Operations, driving project success.
- Demonstrated progression in managing projects with increasing complexity and Stakeholder engagement.
- Professional experience using best practices, proficiency in project management software (e.g, MS Project, Excel), and formal training or certification in Project Management is an asset.
- Skilled in reading engineered drawings, technical specifications, and contracts with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and a solid understanding of SECURE’S services and operations.
