Project Manager – Industrial Water/Wastewater

The Project Manager position is charged with leading the growth and development of industrial water projects within BC’s Private Sector Business Unit (PSBU) through the Application of knowledge and expertise in the field of water and wastewater engineering, client services and project management. This role requires experience with projects through Issued for Construction design phase. The PM will also support the firm’s prominence in IW through application of best technical, project management and client services practices and through the strategic vision, persuasive leadership, coordination with multiple groups within BC and application of necessary directive efforts. The PM is an engaged and action-oriented position who will make decisions based on significant expertise and experience in the subject matter, instinct, and in coordination with PSBU leadership. The PM will develop and implement project delivery strategies and tactics in collaboration with PSBU, Design Services, and design/build leaders.

The role works closely with cross-functional teams to define project scope, setobjectives,allocateresources, and develop detailed project plans. The role monitors progress, manages risksand change, resolves challenges, and communicates with stakeholders to provide regular updates. The rolemanagesmoderately complex projects. This role will typically manage small to mid-size projects and is expected to independently deliver results with minimal supervision, while progressively increasing revenue responsibility.

• • Scope: Collaborate and prepare detailed scopes of work to set clear expectations and prevent project overruns.Develop clear assumptions and limitations and set realistic expectations and a solid pathway todeliveringquality work successfully.

• • Schedule: Collaborate on the development and maintenance of project schedulestoprovide fortimelyresource allocation and delivery.Recommend andassistimplementation ofscheduledelaymitigation measuresasneeded.

• • Budget: Developand collaborate on work breakdown structures and project budgets aligned with scope and schedule tosetprojectsup forfinancial success.Managebudgeton project tomeetplannedproject performance metrics.

• • Quality Management: Create,implementandmonitorquality management plans and processes to enhance client trust, minimize deficiencies, incorporate our standards and quality reviewprocessesand collaborate with team members to contribute to quality.

• • Change Management:Identifyand manage internal and external changes to mitigate risks.Identifyand recommendchangemanagement, in collaboration with project team, prepare the scope and budget for the changeorder, and gain client endorsement and approval for the change to minimize financial and execution risk to BC.

• • Risk Management: Ability toidentifyrisks, develop risk mitigationstrategiesand perform ongoing risk monitoring and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.Identifyand escalate risks, collaborate withteamsto prepare mitigation strategies for each risk, monetization of each risk, and update the risk profile on the project throughout the lifecycle of a project.

• • Health & Safety: Lead by example and follow BC policy and client requirements for health and safety.Lead development and implementation of health and safety plans per theprojectspecific requirements.

• • Manage external resources:includingthird parties/vendors to deliver successfully on their contracted scope, quality,budget, and schedule.

• Delivery of Project and Business Performance Metrics:Leadachievement of project goals related to scope, schedule,budgetand quality.Monitor profitability through routine earned value analysis and compliance, business revenueforecastingandtimelyinvoicing/collections.

• Client Service and Sales/Marketing Support and Engagement:Ability to build successful relationships with Clients, while collaborating with client service managers and project teams to assess client satisfaction.Monitor and share clients’ critical success factorsforproject success and client satisfaction.

• Flexibility to adapt and execute variousadditionalassignments based on evolving needs.

Mentorship

• May provide mentorship, guidance,supportand knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow in their roles.

Skills and Competencies

• Solid knowledge of project management tools and techniques, including project planning, budgetmanagementand risk management.

Experience

• Typically, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experiencesuccessfullymanagingprojects ofincreasingcomplexity.Specifically:

• Competency in development and monitoring of project schedules

• Competency in development and monitoring of project budgets

• Experience with risk management concepts

• Experiencecollaborating with cross functional teams.

• Proven experience in project planning, risk and change management, and contract managementofsmallto mid-size projects.

education

• Abachelor’s degreeinprojectmanagement,engineering,or businessadministrationor equivalent relevant experience isrequired.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure for the private sector

• MS in engineering

• PE registration

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with construction and/or operations phase of water treatment projects.

• High level of emotional intelligence

• Process engineering for treatment of water and wastewater

• Private Sector market perspective – especially Energy, data centers, or mining

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $95,000 – $129,000
Location B: $104,000 – $142,000
Location C: $114,000 – $155,000
