This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing team in a mission critical area of the business, involved in the trials and testing of materials and underwriting engineering designs.Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.Package: from £48,030 and above (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience).Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.Let us introduce the roleAs a Project Manager, you will deliver assigned projects to time, cost and quality, compliant with AWE processes. The role of the Project Manager may also include the applications of their skill sets within nuclear programmes and projects in supporting the delivery of the AWE mission. Project Managers will be expected to work in roles which require an awareness and compliance to the nuclear license conditions.You will work closely with engineers, supporting the project side of documents, ensuring processes are followed, organised and configured. This includes interaction with the tech centres, briefing customers on impact of delays and putting mitigations in place to ensure programmes are aligned and internal hardware is ready when needed.In your role you will:Manage projects with focus on Governance (compliance and reporting).Management of project resources (people, money).Lead the planning of the task/project.Manage work as defined in the Work Authorisation Document (WAD).Lead, support and initiate change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).Lead, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.Who are we looking for?We are ideally seeking a Project Manager with experience in Science or Engineering. You should show strengths in stakeholder engagement in those areas and have the ability to prioritise workload. You will:Deliver assigned tasks in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost, and quality.Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality, and be a great team player.Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:Build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.Read, analyse and interpret charts, spreadsheets, schedules and (in some business areas) technical drawings.Clear and concise communication approach, both oral and written, at multiple levels.Foster good team morale and spirit and motivate others.Effective multi-task working, identify and manage priorities and work to challenging timescales.Possess good listening skills enabling requests to be assimilated and converted into action plans.Able to hold people to account when they under deliver or let standards slip.Must be able to use Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
