The European Train Control System (ETCS) digital train control technology enables a safer, higher-performing, more resilient, more efficient, better skilled, more productive, and greener railway. It delivers improved safety, punctuality and resilience, alongside taxpayer benefits through reduction in capital and whole life costs.The Digital Signalling portfolio co-ordinates fleet fitment activities, develops robust, repeatable approaches to technical delivery and business change, building the industry’s capability to plan, design, deliver, operate and maintain an ETCS railway.Brief DescriptionAs a Programme Reporting Specialist, you will be accountable for all portfolio reporting, coordinating and interpreting the reporting outputs of the component programmes and projects to create a consistent narrative. You will develop KPIs that provide insight and support robust decision making to achieve our mission. You will foster a positive reporting culture across multiple teams and organisations, so that your outputs are consistent and on time, every time.About the role (External)Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain the Portfolio reporting “drumbeat” cycle to ensure timely and high quality inputs.
  • Responsible for all portfolio reporting products, to stakeholders, funders, the sponsor group and the portfolio teams.
  • Maintain high quality reporting, including data collection, analysis and interpretation that supports effective decision making.
  • Exercising sound judgement to tailor each report to its intended audience, providing consistency and transparency while also preserving confidentiality.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a matrix/collaborative context, securing outputs and insight from partners and organisations that are independent and have different objectives.
  • Extensive experience of coordinating multiple reports at multiple levels – partners, stakeholders, executive, sponsor groups.
  • Experience of managing stakeholders at multiple levels to secure consistent messaging and outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience of establishing reporting frameworks and processes that drive consistency and efficiency in complex programme or portfolio environments.
  • Knowledge or experience of implementing reporting tools and techniques such as Power Bi.
  • Knowledge of programme and project controls processes and systems.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with Project Controls within Network Rail.
