The ‘Rule of Three’, Veterans Preference and traditional rating and ranking of applicants does not apply to this vacancy.DutiesThe FMCSA develops and enforces data-driven regulations and programs to achieve the highest degree of safety and compliance in motor carrier operations, including motor carriers, drivers, vehicles, brokers, service providers, and others; Collects and evaluates safety data and information to identify high-risk motor carriers and recommends specific actions to enforce safety regulations; Promulgates educational messages to carriers, commercial drivers, other regulated entities, stakeholders, and the public; Conducts research and develops evidence to support its programs and policies; and partners with stakeholders including Federal, State, and local enforcement agencies, the motor carrier industry, safety groups, and organized labor on efforts to reduce bus and truck-related crashes.The Program Manager (Statistician):
The Ideal Candidate is able to manage a variety of professional and scientific work projects requiring systematic, critical, data-intensive research to evaluate safety impacts of policies, programs and regulations to support FMCSA’s safety mission. In performing these duties, emphasis will be placed on efforts to administer, supervise, or oversee research teams to evaluate programs, estimate safety impacts, and conduct other complex research in support of commercial vehicle safety.RequirementsConditions of Employment
