THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD General DescriptionTyonek Services Group, Inc. is seeking an H-47 Maintenance Test Pilot to serve as a Program Manager in support of H-47 customer’s missions. This individual will be responsible for the technical leadership to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations including cost, quality, and schedule while maintaining company objectives. The Program Manager ensures that the project and task orders produce the required deliverables within the specified constraints of time and cost. Contributes to corporate and program process improvement initiatives as it relates to improvement of the Quality Management System and adheres to quality and production control guidelines throughout the life cycle of the program. This includes management of issues, risk, and change requests to ensure successful and on-time CDRL and product delivery.Duties

  • Responsible for technical oversight of projects and task orders within quality, and schedule constraints
  • Coordinates the efforts of the functional departments, as required, to ensure that projects are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the contract and statement of work
  • Acts as primary contact for assigned integration activities, leading technical performance
  • Familiar with a variety of aviation systems, related concepts, and practices and procedures
  • Develops and controls budgets, resources, and deadlines
  • Develops, reviews, approves project schedules and project deliverables
  • Communicates goals, scope, technical approach, and schedule requirements to assigned personnel
  • Constantly assesses project performance and formulates, organizes, and monitors progress reports
  • Must be knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DFAR, Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, requirements, policies/procedures, cost/scheduling estimating
  • Must possess superior communication skills with experience in interfacing directly with the government Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer’s Representatives, and customer designated representatives
  • Innovation, flexibility, and initiative are important attributes, as well as the ability to work under unusual or extreme pressures
  • Must have excellent risk, change, and resource management skills
  • Demonstrates a solutions-focused approach to problem solving while identifying and resolving customer issues
  • Plans Flight Missions.
  • Conducts any type of Maintenance Test Flights.
  • Conducts Ferry Flights.
  • Conducts any other test support missions as needed or directed.
  • Prepares flight plans considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, aircraft, crew capabilities, operational and training requirements and flight procedures.
  • Maintains flight records and reports observations made during missions.
  • Provides detailed and effective communications with ground maintenance personnel on results of maintenance test, acceptance test flights and all other flights as required.
  • Determines the need to re-fly or fix-and-fly all deficiencies noted during flights.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as deemed necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation or business preferred.
  • Meet all requirements, as rated aviator IAW service guidance for specific design, type, series aircraft for which duties are to be performed in.
  • Must be a graduate of the Army Maintenance Test Pilot Course or completed an equivalency evaluation conducted by the Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization (DES) for CH-47/F and/or MH-47G.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Must have a minimum of one thousand (1000) hours Pilot-in-Command time (300 hours must be in CH-47).
  • Must have at least an FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot certificate.
  • Must hold a valid, current FAA or military Class II Medical Certificate.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Maintenance Examiner (ME) designation desired but not required.
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate desired but not required.
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) certificate desired but not required.

  • Must possess physical dexterity and coordination to qualify for Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to twelve (12) hours per day and sit for up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Must be able to perform non-rated crewmember duties during mission operations.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print, maps, aeronautical charts, and weather charts.
  • Must be able to grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must meet or exceed Federal Aviation Administration minimum visual acuity and hearing standards for Class II medical certificate.
  • Must be physically capable of climbing vertical ladders or built-in aircraft steps to heights of 10-12 feet.
  • May be exposed to chemical mist, gas, vapors, ultra-violet and infrared radiation.
  • May be required to lift fifty (50) pounds to a height of four (4) feet and be required to lift twenty (20) pounds to a height of seven (7) feet.
  • May be exposed to certain obstructions on the surface as well as ladders, stairs, etc.
  • May be exposed to rapid or extreme temperature changes.
  • May be required to meet Night Vision Goggle Vision Requirements: 20/100 near and FAR sight correctable to 20/20, be able to focus Night Vision Goggle at minimum distance of twenty (20) feet.
