Salary: $4,515.00 – $6,067.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:
This position serves as the South Puget Sound region expert for the State Lands timber sales program regarding the presale process, procedures, and standards. Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and process timber sale review documents and advertising materials.
• Review and analyze contracts and other associated documents for completeness and adherence with agency policies, procedures, and guidance.
• Manage timber sale financial accounts, including analyzing timber sale data and ensuring accuracy in data management utilizing various agency systems, including NaturE.
• Invoice and process payments for timber sales, and perform log and load accountability on timber sales sold on a scale or tonnage basis.
• Coordinate with timber sale Purchasers, scaling bureaus, scale facilities, Division and Region staff, and regulatory agency staff to ensure compliance with proper contract processes.
• Provide contract and financial assistance for silviculture service contracts from advertisement for bidding to project closeout
• Perform SharePoint administration duties for the region product sales SharePoint site.
• Manages and maintains timber sale records according to agency file policies and retention requirements.
• Coordinate and assist with training needs and pesticide licensing.

Required Qualifications: 
You must meet all the Required Qualifications and Competencies to be considered for this position. • A Bachelor’s degree involving major study in business administration, public administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics, natural resources, general management, or closely allied field AND one (1) year of professional experience in the natural resource, business or public administration field negotiating, administering, or terminating contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis, or contract compliance administration;
  OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.
  OR a law degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Washington State Bar Association.
• Experience with contract development and terminology.
• Advanced level experience in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets, and Adobe Products.
• Experience organizing, prioritizing, and working within tight schedules and timelines with attention to detail.

• Knowledge of State laws and regulations governing contracts and agreements.
• Knowledge of the Washington State RCWs and WACs.
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively with others to effectively solve problems.
• Knowledge and proficiency with Department of Natural Resources programs, operations, and software including: NatureE, PreSales System, ATB, TSDC, and SharePoint.
• Competency in ArcGIS, including editing.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• General knowledge of timber sale layout and required associated documents.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
