About the roleCapilano University is seeking a Non Regular private voice and text instructor for the Acting for Stage and Screen program.This is one-on-one voice instruction where voice production, vocal health, functional anatomy, body awareness, breath control and support of spoken texts (monologues, sonnets, scenes, etc.) are taught to 2nd and 3rd year acting students.These lessons support the in-class performances as well as the season of shows in both the Blueshore Center for the performing arts and the Arbutus Studio.Current faculty members have a knowledge of many voice methodologies and pedagogies including but not limited to : Linklater, Lessac, Rodenburg. Other methodologies are encouraged and welcomed by the department.Knowledge of dialects, vocal pedagogy, script and text analysis are an asset.Lessons are 50 minutes per student. Number of lessons vary per term.Experience, competencies & qualificationsRequired Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree, certification or equivalent qualification from an accredited college or training program. Post-secondary teaching experience or private vocal teaching experience is required. A Masters in a relevant area is preferred.Must have excellent communication skills, demonstrate patience and leadership, computer skills, be energetic, and collaborative.Posting Detail InformationInternal or External Position External
