Come and be a part of this success!About PotashThe Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.
Jansen’s construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. To find out more about Potash and the Jansen project, click .PurposeBased in Saskatoon, the Principal Project Controls & Analysis – Cost, will be part of the Jansen Project Controls & Analysis team delivering value through project expertise on Jansen projects. You will be part of a team of Project Controls professionals that are enabled through a positive culture driven by a highly engaged workforce and visible leadership of BHP’s Charter Values.About the RoleIn this role, you will:

• Apply an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
• Plan, track and execute the delivery of cost and cost management on project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes together with project stakeholders.
• Identify, apply and evaluate cost control techniques to support the monitoring, managing and reporting of project and package costs.
• Maintain routines to support and coordinate delivery of cost management on project: control budgets, incurred and accrual value assessment, project forecasting.
• Apply change management practices through the tools and methods of the process to evaluate, data, purpose, value and strategic direction.
• Support the commercial evaluation cycle for construction and procurement packages.
• Support the interface on project between multiple stakeholders, contractors and vendors to deliver the optimum value to the project.
• Analyze and report data to develop a complete and accurate picture that will inform decisions regarding the management, quality, cost and control of projects.
• Support/enable a culture of trust and performance within the team to deliver positive outcomes to the Jansen projects.

About You

• Undergraduate degree in a related field (Construction Management; Business; Finance; Engineering) or equivalent experience is required. Any other relevant professional qualifications (AACEi etc.) will also be considered an asset.
• Cognate experience in a position in construction projects or equivalent environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, time management and prioritization attributes.
• Ideally bring experience from the industrial sector including, but not limited to, the mining, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, forestry, power/utilities, transportation and/or oil & gas industries.
• Have a strong network across a diverse set of project functions with a robust reputation and an excellent track record of broader stakeholder activity.
• Strong influencing skills with an ability to interface across the entire project team.
• Experience in capital projects spanning different phases would be considered an asset.

Work LocationDowntown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
