As a Principal Noise Officer, you can make your own powerful contribu on to ensuring Westminster residents,
communi es, businesses and visitors thrive in a clean, safe, and quiet city. Our team proac vely manages Noise and
Nuisance issues within the City. We take a case management approach to the managing of Noise and Nuisance
complaints, working with internal and external partners to resolve complaints. You wil support the Noise officers si ng
within the Proac ve Noise Team and also provide support and exper se to our City Inspectors who respond to noise
complaints that require an immediate response. The City Inspector Teams work 24/7.With expert knowledge in Local Authori es role in the management and response to Noise and Nuisance complaints you
wil ensure al officers that respond to these complaints are supported and understand the legisla on and regula ons
involved.As Principal Noise Officer you wil provide training to the officers delivering the Noise Service.The council has invested in a number of noise monitoring devices. The Principal Noise officer wil be the expert in the
best situa ons to use these, ensuring that they are ful y u lised. They wil also ensure that Noise Officers have the
knowledge and training required to instal , interpret the data and report on the data gathered.The Principal Noise Officer wil also hold their own caseload, where they wil u lise their exper se to manage some of

You’re likely to have a background in Environmental Health and wil be capable of explaining and applying relevant
legisla on and regula ons. You wil also likely have a background in acous cs and the use of noise monitoring
equipment, interpreta on of the results and the wri ng of relevant reports.You wil also likely have strong customer service skil s and have experience of delivering for residents at a high level.Experience of contribu ng to planning and policy would be a bonus. You’l be an excep onal communicator, able to build
produc ve partnerships and working rela onships. You’l also have a strong customer focus.The Council is commi ed to achieving diverse shortlists to support our desire to increase the number of staff from
