We seek to hire a HCPC registered clinical psychologist (band 8A) to provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to children, young people and families under the care of the Enhanced Treatment Service.We welcome applications from newly qualified and recently qualified applicants eligible to occupy the post at band 7 in a preceptorship role. The post holder will provide highly specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT) expertise to children and young people supported by the team. The post holder will also offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to other members of the team in relation to clinical psychology highly specialist knowledge and skills including CBT, DBT, neuropsychology, knowledge of neurodevelopmental presentations.An applicant appointed to preceptorship will be supported through a model that includes a professional and clinical development plan, and ring-fenced time and funding for continuing professional development training. They will be supported to acquire the knowledge, skills and experience to meet the person specifications for the post at band 8a. Where these conditions are met the post holder will be expected to progress to band 8a subject to successful interview.Main duties of the jobYou will be part of a multidisciplinary team, and responsible for the psychological assessment, formulation and treatment interventions for children and young people with complex mental health needs in a Tier 4 CAMHS service. This will include individual and group sessions, for young people and parents, as well as contributing to risk management, care plans and managing caseloads. You will also be responsible for the supervision of junior psychologists (including youth intensive psychological practitioners and trainee psychologists). There is a strong emphasis on supporting the parents and carers and close liaison with the community teams working with each young person. • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent; that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration
• Completed training course in clinical supervision.

• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of children and young people with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature
• Experience of supervising assistant and trainee psychologists having completed the relevant training

• Evidence of advanced practice and clinical experience using CBT and/DBT with children and young people in CAMHS Crisis Services
