For more information or to update your cookie settings, please refer to our .Personal AssistantPersonal AssistantDumfries & Galloway, Dunscore£15.00 per hourPermanent, Part-Time8 hours per weekClosing Date: 8 November 2024Please note that Capability Scotland is not the employer, but acting on our client’s behalf, who is the employerA 90-year-old gentleman, who lives in Dunscore, near Dumfries, is looking for a Personal Assistant to provide support for 2 hours in the evening for days per week.The hours are 8pm till 10pm and the days, Monday to Thursday, inclusive.The support is to provide basic catheter care, getting ready for bed and assisting into bed.Additionally, there will be some light housework required to assist his wife – cleaning, ironing and so on.The gentleman uses a Zimmer to get around the house.He and his wife like to listen to BBC Radio 3 or watch television in the evening.It is essential that you have your own transport and are not dependent upon taxis, buses or favours.If you’re interested in applying for this role, we recommend that you please check the location and decide whether you can make it to and from the house in accordance with hours and days specified above.Requirements for the role:

• Reliable – The gentleman and wife have to know that you will not let them down.
• Out-going – The gentleman and wife are entertaining and amusing company, in their own right. You’ll probably want to join their conversations.
• Able to work on your own initiative – If you spot something that you think needs doing, the gentleman and his wife will be delighted if you just ‘do the doing’.
• Experience with basic catheter care an advantage but training given for the right candidate.
• This post is subject to a satisfactory PVG.

• Pay rate is negotiable for the right candidate.
• Mileage will be included but will be discussed at interview
