The University of Windsor’s School of Social Work invites applications for a Permanence-Track Learning Specialist, Ancillary Academic Staff II (AAS-LS). The position will commence in early 2026.

Position details
This position supports the MSW for Working Professionals Program within the School of Social Work, as a Field Learning Specialist. The incumbent would be responsible for overseeing MSWwp students across the GTA, Southwestern and Eastern Ontario in an appropriate and supported field education setting as a part of the student’s graduate degree program. This includes development of placement opportunities in the above noted geographical locations, coordination of such placements, and supervision of field education experiences which align with the School of Social Work’s graduate field curricula and accreditation standards.

.The successful candidate will have: a MSW in Social Work and a minimum of two years direct practice post MSW; experience developing and coordinating field placement opportunities; experience in facilitating/supervising students in field education settings; a history of working in a team-oriented/collaborative instructional environment; an expressed willingness to utilize non- traditional methods for student assessments; a willingness to learn and incorporate Brightspace (or compatible system) into work; a willingness to adapt teaching methods and procedures to meet the unique needs of our students; a willingness to travel as needed to the off-campus sites. Experience in online course delivery would be an asset, as is evidence of excellence in teaching and a commitment to excellence in graduate education that contributes to social work field education and practice would be an asset. The successful candidate will be committed to principles and practices of equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion, to anti-racism, anti-oppressive or social justice education, and to fulfillment of the educational Calls to Action as set out by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
Compensation:
$77,218- $127,218
This is within the 2025-2026 salary range for the rank as outlined in Article A Table A.1 of the current Collective Agreement with the Windsor University Faculty Association. The compensation offered to the successful candidate will take into consideration their experience and existing salary structure. A full range of benefits including a pension plan and medical benefits are available to the successful candidate.
