DOF’s Finance and Procurement team is seeking an experienced Accountant to serve as the lead Payroll Analyst for the Agency. This position manages the fiscal activities of payroll operations for DOF and provides fiscal support in year-end financial reporting. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for performing various analyses and reconciliations to validate accuracy of payroll transactions, preparing data for internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with Commonwealth policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments. The ideal candidate will also possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive payroll information.
The following abilities are necessary to be successful in this position: Ability to multi-task, work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines; Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to internal employees and other stakeholders; Ability to interpret and apply policy, rules and regulations; Ability to reconcile internal fiscal records to external systems; Ability to compile information for reports or projects.Minimum QualificationsExperience in payroll administration, accounting, and reporting; Proficient knowledge of computer applications, specifically Excel and its associated functions/capabilities; Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of State Payroll Operations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Commonwealth Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP)
