Job description
An international bank is looking to hire a Payments Operations Officer to join its Treasury Banking Operations team. The role focuses on delivering efficient domestic and international payment processing and clearing.Key Responsibilities
- Support and process international and domestic payments, including non-STP transactions; strong understanding of MT1xx, MT2xx, and ISO 20022 formats required.
- Monitor payment queues daily, addressing formatting issues, insufficient funds, and forward value dates.
- Provide customer support for clearing services, including payment statuses, account queries, and non-receipt investigations.
- Handle payment cases involving returned or held funds (e.g. AML-related holds) and liaise with clients for required information.
- Produce daily/weekly/monthly MI on payment volumes, values, STP rates, and participant balances.
- Process monthly participant charges for bank fees and overdraft usage.
- Maintain and update operational procedures, ensuring full compliance with internal processes.
- Cross-train and support other product areas as required.
Key Requirements
- Experience in international payments and central cash clearing operations.
- Strong understanding of intraday credit monitoring and case handling.
- Hands-on knowledge of operational processes and controls.
- Proficient in MS Office and SWIFT systems.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and under pressure.
- High attention to detail and accuracy essential.
