The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is excited to welcome a motivated and personable Park Resource Ranger to play a vital role in keeping our landscapes safe and welcoming for all of our visitors at Bendigo State Park Complex. Here, you will serve as the primary point of contact for park goers, providing all aspects of visitor services while also ensuring that public safety needs are being promptly addressed. As a Park Resource Ranger, your work will focus on providing professional visitor services, outdoor recreation services and information, and overall public safety. You will be responsible for traveling the park by vehicle, on foot, or by bicycle to address problems or concerns which may pose a threat to the health and safety of park visitors. You will inspect buildings, facilities, and grounds for safety hazards and immediately correct or control the hazard. You will also provide training to new employees, oversee visitor activities to ensure proper use of the park’s facilities, as well as educate visitors regarding park rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Within this role, you may be required to participate in providing emergency care for visitors and conducting search and rescue efforts. In addition, you will respond to visitor complaints or incidents, reporting any violations of the law to the Park Manager.
