Works with visitor services to gain experience in the operations of a safe, welcoming, and well balanced visitor services program. This position is stationed in Newport, OR.

Provide informal interpretation for visitors on the seabirds and marine mammals of Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge at multiple locations
Assist with communication, outreach, and marketing for wildlife refuges through a variety of media
Work alongside refuge volunteers and staff on habitat restoration
Help protect wildlife and ensure visitor safety
Assist with trail maintenance

Requirements:

B.Sc. preferred or some undergrad coursework in biology, natural resources, park management, or related field required
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident under age 31
Valid state driver’s license
Must be able to work independently and in groups
Must have good observational and communication skills
Schedule flexibility, including weekend, holidays, and morning/evening shifts
