We are seeking a highly organised, motivated and detail-orientated Paralegal to join our in-house legal team. This role will focus on supporting the legal team in managing contentious matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders. There is also scope for the right candidate to potentially expand their responsibilities and work on other matters across the Legal and Compliance function.This is a hybrid role with some attendance required at our London office.Under the direction of the Assistant Head of Legal, the Role will include:Case Management:
- Overseeing and managing contentious matters/litigation cases from inception to resolution.
- Organising documentation and filing, maintaining and tracking important deadlines.
Legal Research and Documentation:
- Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings and other legal documents.
- Assisting in trial preparation by organising exhibits, witness lists, and other necessary documentation.
Advisory and Regulatory Support:
- Providing clear, commercial and effective legal advice and support to the divisions of Emeria UK, with a particular focus on property management and property disputes.
Administrative Duties:
- Handling administrative tasks such as maintaining internal trackers
- Maintaining and filing internally records of all legal documentation/claims.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Acting as a liaison between the legal team and other stakeholders, court and external parties.
- Assisting with some client reporting on active contentious matters/litigations.
- Ensuring clear and effective communication throughout.
Key Accountabilities
- Initial investigation of queries, complaints, requests for advice, and threatened or actual claims against group companies.
- Playing a key role in reporting and risk control/monitoring.
- Ability to manage own caseload, subject to supervision.
- Instructing and liaising with external counsel/ advisors, where applicable.
- Assisting with drafting and/or reviewing property documents, including but not limited to Leases, Deeds, Consents and Licences.
Person Specification * Degree level certificate or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in-house or in private practice, focusing on the residential property sector including property litigation, dispute resolution and landlord and tenant matters is desirable, but not essential.
