Join us to build the digital economy of tomorrow.Job DescriptionCheckout.com is seeking a dedicated Commercial Paralegal to join our Legal Team to support the business growth and expansion!Your main responsibility will be to provide assistance to the Legal team and the business in all commercial contracts related matters, including to review and negotiate a variety of contracts (bespoke pricing provisions, amendments, novation agreements, etc.), maintain a variety of contract templates, assist with the allocation of work and a variety of other administrative tasks and advise on ad hoc legal queries.You may also provide assistance and guidance to various internal clients across a diverse range of stakeholders, including Sales, Account Management, Deal Management and other teams.Collaborating with all core functions within the company, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects and play a key role in supporting the company’s rapid growth.How you’ll make an impact:Support the Legal team and the business with contract negotiations, contract management and improving commercial processes;Contribute to the development and/or maintenance of training programs for Checkout.com colleagues and participate in delivery of internal training;Flag new legal developments and consider their impact on Checkout.com;Conduct research on various multi-jurisdictional legal issues; andSupport the Company’s strategic projects and initiatives by providing creative, proactive and results orientated advice.QualificationsPrior in-house in-house experience as a legal professional (e.g., paralegal, legal assistant, contract manager) (2 years+). Experience in the Finance and/or FinTech industry (e.g. payment institution, e-money institution, bank) would be an advantageExcellent time management skills and the ability to handle a large workloadAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to work at pace and juggle competing prioritiesDemonstrate excellent critical judgment, quick thinking and agility.High level of written and interpersonal communication skillsStrong level of accuracy and attention to detailBe open-minded and willing to accept new challengesAdditional InformationIf you don’t meet all the requirements but think you might still be right for the role, please apply anyway.
