Job description

Position OverviewApex Aluminum is seeking a Paint Supervisor to lead and manage the activities of the paint line team, overseeing the preparation, painting, and inspection of aluminum products. This role involves coordinating schedules, ensuring safety and quality standards, and managing inventory for “Just in Time” manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have three years of experience in wet and powder coating, with expertise in automated paint equipment and team supervision.Day Shift: 7:00AM – 3:30PM, Monday to FridayDuties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of paint line workers involved in the preparation, assembly, and inspection of various products, including aluminum extrusions, panels, sheeting, break shapes, and flashing throughout the pre-painting, painting, and post-painting processes.
  • Develop and implement efficient work methods, ensuring seamless coordination with other departments to meet production schedules.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld on the paint line, while managing the inventory of mill finish and painted materials to support just-in-time manufacturing.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues, recommending improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Oversee staff training in job duties, safety protocols, and company policies, while also handling personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, and preparing production reports.
  • Expertise in setting up and operating paint line machinery and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in wet and powder coating of aluminum extrusions, including operating and troubleshooting automated paint equipment.
  • Proficient in managing, setting up, and maintaining automated vertical and horizontal paint/coating ovens and systems.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising a fully automated paint line and managing a finishing process center.
  • Strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude and excellent multitasking abilities.
  • Reliable, physically fit, and capable of effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
