Position Title: Packaging LabourerPosition Type: Regular – Full-Time ​Position Location: [[cust_locationName]]Grade: [[cust_payGrade]]Requisition ID: 35545Summary: Responsible for loading Wexxars with shooks and for making minor adjustments; for reloading taper and making minor adjustments; bailing cardboard waste, maintaining a clean work area, completing rework and hand-stacking as needed, following all company safety procedures, and completing paperwork/data entry.Accountabilities:

• Work under the direction of and reports to the Packaging Lead Hand.
• Ability to operate case packers, case erectors and case checkweighers.
• Perform preventative maintenance checklist.
• Ensure that all cases are properly weighed, sealed and coded.
• Changing date codes and loading case erectors to meet line demand.
• Ensuring packaging material waste and product waste is minimized.
• Change-over procedures (Dyna-packs, case erectors)
• Complete all TQC /MCE procedures and check sheets.
• Communicate with other departments as required.
• Report all mechanical, operational and safety concerns promptly.
• Accurately relate/maintain all required documentation.
• Perform all duties in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.
• Perform housekeeping of work area to maintain established standards.
• Provide help in other areas of production as required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a 120-day familiarization period.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
• Enroll in WHMIS Training Program.
• Work with all required safety equipment.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Satisfactory past job performance.

Physical Requirements

• Physically capable of performing all required duties, including lifting, pulling, pushing, shoveling, climbing, and piling of all types of materials as required.
• Work in extreme temperatures, high humidity, and dusty conditions.
• Function in a noisy environment and wear hearing protection.
