Job description

Complete daily pre-use inspections prior to using a crane and other material-handling equipment
Follow and demonstrate proper rigging procedures and techniques
Move required material to the designated locations within the yard
Load joist and deck and other material on the trailers for shipping
Maintain control of load at all times
Properly and promptly report maintenance concerns
Shunt trailers in the yard (as required)
Advise workplace parties of quality issues/concerns as identified
Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is worn at all times
Practice good housekeeping, including 5S requirements and time management in the performance of daily duties
Comply with all legislated and company’s health, safety, environmental, quality and Lean policies, procedures and programs
Perform all other related duties as assigned
Company DescriptionQualifications
Ability to operate an overhead crane, forklift (combilift) and trucks (shunting)
Ability and willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions everyday
Ability to read and understand job requisitions, and the ability to work independently and as a team
Position also requires the physical ability to climb ladders onto trailers as necessary to secure product
Position requires the willingness to work overtime when needed to meet customer needs
Physical ability to routinely lift up to 50 lb is also required
