Greenhouse work will take place in the City of Albuquerque greenhouse; event work will take place at various locations throughout Albuquerque

CCNM is focused on connecting youth, young adults, and recent era military veterans with conservation service work projects on public lands and surrounding communities. CCNM operates programs across New Mexico and Texas that engage individuals and strengthen communities through service and conservation. The CCNM Las Cruces office manages the Individual Placement Program.
Mentorship
These Individual Placement Positions are unique development opportunities. Participants are paired with a local supervisor and gain technical, hands-on experience in the work of these organizations or agencies. Site supervisors commit to facilitate career development; provide an introduction to numerous pathways within the conservation field; and create accessible, meaningful, learning opportunities and experiences for participants.
Position Summary:
Pollinators in the Neighborhood is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic intern to join our team as an assistant to project leaders. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations including volunteer coordination, native plant growing, native pollinator best practices, event planning, and community engagement, while contributing directly to our mission. Greenhouse work will take place in the City of Albuquerque’s greenhouse at 8220 Spain Rd. NE. Event work will take place at various locations throughout Albuquerque, including numerous errands for printing, supplies, event setup and neighborhood outreach.

Trainings Provided:
On-the-job training and professional development opportunities will be provided by project leaders for the greenhouse phase and the event planning and execution phase. Often work will be performed in conjunction with a project leader, but individual tasks will also be assigned. A supervisor will always be available to take calls for questions or assistance.
Working Conditions:
The position involves working closely with others, including in a greenhouse environment where conditions may be humid and warm, but not unsafe. Appropriate work clothing including closed-toe shoes for protection are required, light weight gloves and masks are optional. A lightweight long sleeve shirt and long pants are recommended. Some outside work will be required and sunscreen, a hat and water bottle are also recommended. Occasional lifting and moving supplies up to 40# will be needed. Wherever possible dollies or carts will be provided.
