Job Description:Contract up to 20 months.Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.At Metrolinx, equity, diversity and inclusion are essential to living our values of serving with passion, thinking forward and playing as a team.Our Network Operations office is seeking an Operations Controller on contract for up to 20 months, who will be responsible for creating, managing, and controlling the daily operational and emergency communications for the GO Transit and UP Express transit network. As part of an integrated team, they will collaborate with multiple business units to compile the operational information to communicate the standard reporting and incident responses.What will I be doing?

• Develop and control the communications of performance status reports, schedule modifications and overall daily operation of the Metrolinx Regional Network.
• Communicate implementation of the incident management processes identified in continuity and emergency responses, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate and facilitate effective communication and information flow with all internal and external customers in conjunction with service recovery, schedule adjustments, and service disruptions.
• Ensure timely and accurate information dissemination to relevant personnel and stakeholders.
• Participate on various project teams and committees.

What skills & qualifications do I need?

• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to quickly assess and act upon situations in a fast-paced environment and to successfully manage under pressure and respond to critical changing priorities.
• Experience working in a Control Centre or related experience in transportation with a solid background in the principles, practices, and application of transportation operations is an asset.
• Excellent computer skills with high level knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly become proficient in the use of proprietary software.
• Must successfully complete environmental, safety, and other training required by corporate policy or regulatory agencies.
• Safety, environmental, and/or regulatory transportation courses, or certifications is an asset.
• Completion of a diploma in Business Administration, Communications, Transportation, or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Completion of a degree or diploma in Emergency Management/Telecommunications, Communications, Business, Supply Chain, and Management would be considered an asset.
