If so this could be the role for you!Our client runs a UK based window cleaning operation, both commercial and residential. Established over 15 years ago, they care for buildings in the heritage, hotel, residential and commercial sectors, undertaking complex cleaning projects and maintenance work for many of London’s iconic buildings.As a smaller and more reactive work environment, they are offering the unique opportunity to join their growing workforce and take on new challenges in a dynamic environment. High standards of conduct are encouraged as well as performance, helping to stimulate the development of each employee to their full potential.The Operations Area Manager will hold responsibility for managing a team of 15 – 20 operatives working on various sites. They will be responsible for the smooth running of sites, stores, office and fleet. They will report to the Operations Director on weekly performances plus resolved and outstanding issues.This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is used to working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to enhance their existing skill set.Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Maintain daily communication with on-site teams
- Undertake weekly toolbox talks
- Review and provide team training as required
- Manage and assign teams schedule of work, coordinating attendance with clients and optimising workflow and operational efficiency
- Assist with recruitment
- On-board new hires, preparing equipment, uniform, PPE and app login details
Essential Experience Required:
- Proven experience of solid leadership and managing of remote teams
- Experience of demonstrating good people skills and the ability to keep staff motivated
- Experience of managing stakeholders/clients
- Experience of problem solving in complex situations
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working in the cleaning industry
Skills
- Good communication skills
- The ability to encourage and motivate teams
- The ability to monitor Health and safety, legal compliance and customer requirements and ensure that the team is maintaining this
- The ability to undertake one to one meetings, reviews, investigations and disciplinaries in line with Company policies and procedures, liaising with our external HR company
Job details:
- Operations Area Manager
- Salary: £40,000 to £46,000 per annum depending on experience
- Location: Lee, SE12 (vast majority of sites are within the M25)
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Must be able to drive and in possession of clean driving licence
- Benefits include 28 days annual leave, Company car, Pension scheme, Health Care plus training and development opportunities
