• Location – Sydney CBD
• Employment type – Ongoing (Full-time/Part-time); Temporary and Casual roles also available.
• Salary – Clerk General Scale (Base Salary $35,600 – $69,686), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The Operational Assistant at the Land and Environment Court plays a vital role in providing clerical and client support to ensure the smooth functioning of the Court. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals eager to contribute to the judicial system while honing their administrative and customer service skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What you’ll do

As part of the Land and Environment Court Registry team, you will provide essential administrative support, including data entry, processing court documents, and assisting with hearings. You will manage client inquiries and ensure timely, accurate service delivery.

You will also:

• Maintain and manage court files, including exhibits and subpoenas.
• Assist with the Registrar Directions Hearing Lists and List Judge Lists.
• Process daily correspondence and ensure proper handling of court/registry mail.
• Support the team in implementing improved work practices and processes.
• Work as part of a dedicated team that values collaboration and professionalism, working in an environment focused on accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Experience in customer service, with an ability to communicate clearly and courteously.
• Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with security and confidentiality guidelines.

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

• National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
• Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
