An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Centre, we are looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking Band 7 nurse for our cancer centre team within our Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU).This is a very exciting time to join the Cancer Centre nursing team at the University Hospital of North Midlands and play an integral role in delivering nurse led services within this speciality.Main duties of the jobEAU encompasses both the management of oncology and haematology patients who develop severe complications during systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) , as well as the management of patients who present as oncological and haematological emergencies.About usUniversity Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country.   • Degree in Nursing or health/nursing related studies or evidence of continuing academic progression in combination with equivalent experience
  • SACT Passport
  • UKONS triage tool training
  • Principles of Health Assessment Course
  • Non-Medical Prescribing
  • GCP training

Desirable

  • ILS
  • Practice assessor/supervisor qualification

ExperienceEssential

  • Minimum of 5 years post registration experience to include at least 3 years within speciality
  • Experience in managing oncological and haematological conditions

  • Experience in a leadership role

Skills, Ability & KnowledgeEssential

  • Ability to develop medium and long term plans to meet service need and ensure sustainability
  • Experience in audit processes/research
  • Excellent speciality knowledge
  • Understanding of the modern NHS and UHNM strategy
