The Project Lead will head the online deliverable initiative specific to the CSFS’s Sustainable Practicum in Sustainable Agriculture. They will join the Teaching Team in an on-line course development capacity and be responsible for developing on-line courses, number and scope to be determined.The Project Lead is responsible for aspects in the overall planning, development and delivery of one or more short-courses, potentially including Micro-Credential courses. The Project Lead works collaboratively with the Practicum teaching team and will lead the development of courses that will provide an outstanding student experience by ensuring excellence in course design and delivery. Knowledgeable about the practice of professional education in general and especially on-line deliverables, learning technologies and pedagogical strategies, the Project Lead develops high quality, innovative and engaging courses based on CSFS educational philosophy and the existing Sustainable Agriculture Practicum curriculum. New innovations and content will also be expected.Organizational Status
Reports directly to the Education Manager at the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems. Works closely with relevant team members when needed but independently as well. Acts as the main point person with technical and IT staff re: IT support.Work PerformedProgram Leadership:Responsible for development and planning for creation, maintenance, evaluation, promotion and improving for-profit, market-oriented professional programs designed to deliver an engaging student experience to facilitate lifelong learning and advance careers.Responsible for the initial states in the design and development of innovative programs to attract new students to drive unit revenue.Program Admissions and Registration:

Based on program outlines, creates and plans the schedule of course offerings, hiring and evaluating instructors and, writing and reviewing course descriptions and objectives.Provides advice for student and instructor related issues.Develops the evaluation/feedback process for online courses.Takes the appropriate action within unit guidelines to address issues.Student Information Systems:Reviews curriculum and how it will translate into an online learning format.Works with the CSFS Practicum Teaching Team and others to ensure the content on the LMS is current and correct.Project Management:Establishes or develops financial budgets and performance metrics to determine the optimal allocation of resources for course delivery and support.Provides recommendations to Program Leaders, instructional designers, instructor requirements, subject matter experts, consultants, media specialists and others to create learning assets using various learning management systems and technologies to support student learning and engagement, primarily for on-line formats.Performs other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the position as specified by the Education Manager.Consequence of Error/Judgement
Incorrect or poor decisions will have a significant and direct impact on the financial performance and reputation of the Micro-Credential Program, the Faculty and the University in general. Poor judgments could result in legal liability of the University. Poor hiring decisions could affect quality of courses, reputation of the University, which could affect client satisfaction and the financial viability of the Program.Supervision Received
Reports to the Education Manager for overall policies and procedures of the Centre and receives day-to-day supervision and guidance from the Education Manager.Supervision Given
None.Minimum Qualifications
University degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of two years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.– Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own– Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusionPreferred QualificationsMasters preferred.Experience in design and delivery of sustainable food education with knowledge of effective instructional design and techniques preferred.Project management experience an asset.Experience in an administrative role, preferably in a cost-recovery environment, with experience in adult learning is an asset.Experience working collaboratively with vulnerable, under-represented and indigenous groups and volunteer committees is an asset.Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to exhibit tact and diplomacy.Effective oral and written communication, negotiation and organizational skills.Ability to work both independently and within a team environment while providing supportive leadership.Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.Computer experience at an intermediate level is required (MS Office).

$4970.92 – 7141.92 per month
