News Producer – This Morning (Part Time)Office/Studio Based, London6 Month Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover)2 Days per week (Monday and Tuesday)One weekend in 5 with time off in Lieu.Hiring range: £40,000 – £45,000 (pro rated to part time 2 days per week)Your work matters to millions.This Morning features a broad mix of topical news items and human interest stories. A fantastic opportunity has now arisen to join us as a News Producer.In this varied and busy role, you’ll be involved in the booking of newsmaking guests and exclusives, as well as both serious and light-hearted human interest stories. You’ll need to be a tenacious self-starter with an impressive contacts book and have strong relationships with news agencies, freelance journalists, newspapers, ITN and other media organisations.You will have a journalistic background and excellent knowledge of current affairs, especially of the issues that matter to our viewers. You’ll need to be bursting with original story ideas and ‘This Morning’ takes on the big news of the day.You’ll need to have an excellent grasp of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code and be proficient in overcoming legal hurdles to produce compliant items.You’ll be a team player, working collaboratively with other members of the Newsdesk, as well as with different departments across the programme. You must have a flexible approach to work as you will be working to a shift pattern which will include weekends and bank holidays.Preferably you’ll also have experience working in a live broadcast environment. • A journalistic background and comprehensive knowledge of current affairs
• Excellent grasp of the Ofcom codeInitiative and tenacity in chasing stories
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to perform efficiently under pressure
• Experience in working in a live studio environment
