Role OverviewMulti Skilled Engineer

• Location: Hatfield (AL10)
• Salary: £48,405
• Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (42 hours per week)
• Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing

• Conduct regular inspections of conveyor belts and sortation controls to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
• Respond to breakdowns and troubleshoot technical problems with conveyor belts and sortation controls, including identifying faulty components, replacing parts, and resetting systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on conveyor belts and sortation controls, including lubrication, cleaning, and calibration.
• Work with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures and protocols.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in the maintenance of conveyor belts and sortation controls, and provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices.

What you need to show us

• Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent knowledge of conveyor belt and sortation control systems, including electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components
• Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Qualification in an engineering or technical discipline, such as electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience working in a safe and clean working environment.
• Flexibility to work a 4on 4off shift pattern, including weekends and nights.
