  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Operate rig equipment and dollies to move heavy machinery and parts
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts (often to within a fraction of a millimetre tolerance)
  • Align and test equipment and adjust
  • Perform preventive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts
  • Trouble-shoot hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls
  • Tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement part
  • Review work assignments and job procedures to ensure safe and reliable work execution
  • Perform field work to a high quality and provide thorough follow up with proper and efficient documentation of work
  • Perform proactive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs for a wide range of Instrumentation and control equipment, such as Hydraulic operated valves, various pressure and flow measurements, radiation density Gauges, Radar level transmitters, CCTV monitoring systems, Computerized control systems

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Certified Journeyperson Trade Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program
  • 2-3 years’ experience reading mechanical schematic diagrams and design diagrams
  • 2-3 years’ experience fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts, attaching motors, and connecting couplings and belts (often to within a fraction of a millimeter tolerance).
  • 2-3 years’ experience aligning and testing equipment and adjusting.
  • 2-3 years’ experience performing preventative and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts.
  • 2-3 years’ experience trouble-shooting hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls.
  • 2-3 Years’ Oil/Gas Industry experience
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Manual dexterity
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • The ability to read and understand complex instructions and drawings
  • The ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans and blueprints
  • The ability to comprehend and trouble-shoot mechanical systems
  • The ability to get along with and sometimes supervise the work of others
  • The ability to keep up to date with changing technology
  • The ability to do careful and precise work
  • May be required to lift items weighing over 25 kilograms
  • Must be willing to work in remote job locations
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site

Compensation and Benefits

  • $45.33 – $50.00 hourly rate
  • Shift rotation to change per project requirements
  • 14 days on, 7 days off
  • 21 days on, 7 days off
  • 20 days on, 8 days off
  • 6 days on, 1 day off
  • 10 hours per day – hours flexible to change
  • Overtime is given at the rate of 1.5 times the employee straight time hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime will be paid when an employee works on any regularly scheduled day off
  • All compensation and benefits will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement and Prejob Conference,
  • 6% vacation and 4.5% statutory holiday pay will be provided in accordance with the Collective Agreement and Prejob Conference
  • Camp accommodations and travel allowance will be provided for those residing further than 85km from the project site, Saskatoon or Regina.
