Job Title: Metal Shop Generalist
Pay: $22/Hr. to $24/Hr., depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Start Date: ASAPWe are seeking a Metal Shop Generalist for a Temp to Hire position for our client, a leading provider of custom sheet metal fabrication based in Biddeford, ME. The Metal Shop Generalist will be responsible for performing shake-out and deburring material, drilling, tapping, inserting hardware, and material handling in a fast-paced shop environment. Success in this role is defined by efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment. This is a Temp to Hire position located in Biddeford, ME.As a Metal Shop Generalist, you will be responsible for:Ensuring all safety devices and machine guarding are in place and operational.Performing daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.Maintaining logs of preventive maintenance on a daily/weekly schedule.Safely using drill presses, hardware inserters, and hand-held grinding power tools.Assisting other staff in the various phases of fabrication as needed.Keeping the shop area clean, neat, and free of safety hazards (slips, trips, falls).Ensuring material handling methods maintain safe pallet weights and stacking capacity.Reporting any maintenance needs or operational issues to the supervisor and suggesting changes to improve efficiency.

Inspecting materials and parts for quality and defects throughout the process.The ideal candidate for this role will have:High school diploma, GED, or vocational tech school.Strong mechanical ability and prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred.Ability to interpret mechanical drawings with training, blueprint reading, and familiarity with job travelers.Battery-operated pallet jack certification (training provided).Strong work ethic, initiative, “can-do” attitude, and the ability to work well within a team.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for 8-10 hours a day, and work in a production/manufacturing environment.Benefits:Enjoy affordable health and prescription coverage with no waiting period.Benefits offered by the employer once hired permanently.Ask us about our Referral Bonus Program to earn extra cash.Ready to take the next step?
