For more information, click here .Role reports to: Tech Ops Operational System LeaderLocation: Guelph CanadaTravel %: 10What you will doThe MES Lead is responsible for the deployment, integration, and support of the Manufacturing Execution System within the organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that MES solutions are effectively implemented to improve manufacturing processes, enhance productivity, and ensure data integrity and compliance.The MES Lead provide support and optimize automated systems to enhance efficiency and streamline processes for NA Sites, special focus in the Guelph Site. Driving and delivering optimal cost, quality, and compliance for the manufacturing systems. In close collaboration with the Automation Support Team, Engineering, Operations, Packaging, and site Leadership Team, this position serves as the primary point of contact for end-to-end NA MAKE MES System through project delivery and ongoing maintenance and Operations support of the internal production site.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of MES projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Configure and customize MES solutions to meet business requirements.
- Develop and execute project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Integrate MES with other enterprise systems such as ERP, PLM, and SCADA.
- Ensure seamless data flow between MES and other systems, maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with IT and automation teams to ensure successful integration.
- Develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MES usage.
- Standardizes and leverages solutions across sites.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for MES-related issues.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure MES functionality and performance.
- Manage MES upgrades, patches, and enhancements. Support 7X24 NA Sites Operation.
- Train end-users and stakeholders on MES functionalities and best practices.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, training materials, and system documentation.
What we are looking forRequired Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related
- 5 years of experience in MES Implementation and support within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
- Proficiency in MES software such as Traksys, PASX, or similar.
- Experience with system integration and interfacing with ERP, and Automation Ledger Systems.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience in system automation, with a track record of successful implementations.
- Strong programming skills, custom automation scrips and solution tailored to specific needs.
- In-depth knowledge of automation tools and technologies.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in English language – writing, speaking and understanding.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Masters) in Engineering or MBA is preferred.
